Admiral Schofield is a British-American professional basketball player who plays in the NBA. He plays as a small forward for the Florida-based NBA club, Orlando Magic.

The Orlando Magic small forward is quick-paced and omnipresent while playing on the court. However, he has an average height for a forward, so taller opponents often outperform him.

During his college years, although his last two seasons were admirable, the NBA clubs had doubts about whether to pick him or not. The 76ers eventually selected him in the hope that he would prove himself.

Unfortunately, he has not had any memorable season in the NBA so far. However, he is still very young and doing well in the NBA G League, so there is still some hope.

Now let’s excavate more information about Admiral’s life and career in the article beneath. But before getting any further, here are some quick facts about him.

Admiral Schofield’s Childhood and Family

Admiral Donovhan Schofield, also known as Admiral Schofield, was born on March 30, 1997, in London, England. He is one of Anthony and Dawn Schofield’s five children.

His family now includes three siblings in addition to him. Unfortunately, his brother, Joshua, died unexpectedly in 2007.

Many people are curious about how he got his unusual first name. His father, Anthony, was a US Navy officer at the time of his birth, so he was given that name.

Admiral, on the other hand, admits that his family members never address him by his first name, and he was initially perplexed when his school teachers addressed him as Admiral. He didn’t like it at first, but now he’s proud to have such a unique name.

Despite being born at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, he spent his entire childhood in Chicago, Illinois. When he was about two years old, his parents returned to America.

Following his father’s retirement after 24 years of service, his family relocated to Great Lakes, Illinois.

Admiral began his education at the local primary school in Great Lakes. Because everyone in his family enjoyed sports, he participated in almost every sport as a child. He did, however, primarily play football and basketball.

His eldest brother, O’Brien, was almost ten years older and a decent football player.

Donovhan, on the other hand, was primarily interested in basketball and worked hard to improve his skills. He credits Michael Jordan as his greatest inspiration, and he recalls watching his games as a child with bated breath.

Admiral’s Brother Used to Play in the NFL

Admiral’s eldest brother, O’Brien Schofield, spent six years in the top-tier American football league, the NFL. Following his college career with the Wisconsin Badgers, he was drafted as the 130th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals.

Schofield primarily played linebacker but had a reputation as a great defenseman since he was in high school. Unfortunately, his professional career would not last as long as he had hoped.

On the plus side, he received numerous honors and awards during his football career. In 2013, he was a member of the Seattle Seahawks, who won the Super Bowl. O’Brien was also the East-West Shrine Game Defensive MVP in 2010.

He retired from football after being released by the Atlanta Falcons in 2016.

Admiral became the first Wizards player to play for both the Wizards and the Go-Go club on the same day on December 4, 2019.

As the season progressed, Schofield appeared in only 33 matches for his club and saw significantly less playing time. He was only able to put up 3.0 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.

As a result, he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2020.

Following a brief stint with the Atlanta Hawks in August, he joined the Lakeland Magic, the Orlando Magic’s NBA G League affiliate club.

The Magic made him sign a two-way contract for the 2021-22 season after he averaged 14.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in the 2020-21 NBA G League. This season, however, he had no impact on the game.
