The news that Alejandro Monteverde’s father Juan Manuel Gomez Fernandez and brother Juan Manuel Gomez Monteverde had been abducted and slain after leaving their Tampico, Tamaulipas, home in 2015 was one of the most shocking to come out at the time.
Their bodies were discovered in Pueblo Viejo, Veracruz, on September 19, 2015, after going missing on September 4, according to the authorities. At a restaurant called La Pecerita, where Alejandro’s brother Juan Manuel worked as a business partner, there was allegedly once drug cartel activity going on.
