He received numerous honors throughout his stay at Olivet. He was named to the First Team All-CCAC, All-Region VII, and NAIA Honorable Mention All-America lists in 2002.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays
Ben was selected by the Houston Astros in the sixth round of the 2004 amateur draft to play shortstop. On July 12th, 2006, he was exchanged for Aubrey Huff by the Rays.
With Tampa Bay, Zobrist made his MLB debut on August 1st, 2006. Ben struggled with Tampa Bay in the seasons 2006 and 2007.

Oakland Athletics
Later, the Rays dealt Yunel Escobar and Zobrist to the Oakland Athletics for John Jaso and Daniel Robertson.
In his first at-bat on an opening day during his league games with the Oakland Athletics, Ben smashed a two-run home run.
Sadly, Oakland disclosed that Zobrist had a ruptured medial meniscus in his left knee. Ben was retained on the 15-day injured list due to the injury.
