Bridget Fonda grew up in the famed Fonda family and knew she wanted to be an actress. She made her film debut at the age of five in her father’s 1969 film ‘Easy Rider.’ After appearing in a school production of ‘Harvey,’ she became interested in acting. Before getting the character of Mandy Rice-Davies in the British drama film ‘Scandal’ in 1989, she had a few minor roles.
In 1990, she made her film debut as journalist Grace Hamilton in the third part of ‘The Godfather.’ She appeared in a few theatrical shows in the years that followed. She starred in Barbet Schroeder’s ‘Single White Female’ in 1992. In the same year, she starred as Janet Livermore in Cameron Crowe’s ‘Singles,’ a role created especially for the director, writer, and producer.
In 1997, while on the same flight with filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, she was given the role of Melanie in “Jackie Brown.” She turned down the lead part in the television series ‘Ally McBeal’ in order to concentrate on her film career, and in 1999 she played in the monster horror comedy ‘Lake Placid.’ After co-starring with Jet Li in the action thriller film Kiss of the Dragon in 2001, she appeared on television for four episodes of ‘The Chris Isaak Show’ (2002).
