Forbes was born on July 23, 1993, in Lansing, the state capital of Michigan, a National Historic Landmark, to his mother, Sue Forbes, and father, Brandon Forbes. Erin W. Warmels, one of his siblings, is older than he is.

He earned the Lansing State Journal Dream Team honor after averaging 13.6 points as a junior and 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists as a senior at Sexton High.

He wasn’t the top pick for basketball clubs, but he was ranked by ESPN as Cleveland State’s third-best recruit for the 2012 class.

Spurs San Antonio (2016-2020)

After going undrafted for the NBA Summer League 2016, Forbes joined Spurs on July 14. He made 77 out of 100 three-point attempts during one of the NBA draft pre-workouts, which left a lasting impression on his coach.

The standout moment was when he scored a career-high 27 points to propel the Spurs to a 108-82 triumph. He was recognized for his performance in the NBA Summer League in 2017 by being named to the All-NBA Summer League Second Teams.

One of only three NBA undrafted players under 6’4″ to ever start a game for the Spurs, he was one of them. His first professional victory came with the Chicago Bulls, who defeated them 133-94 thanks to 13 points from him.
