Carin Van Der Donk is a former model and photographer from the Netherlands. However, she is best known as the wife of American actor, producer, and musician Vincent D’Onofrio.

A native of New York, D’Onofrio is best known for his roles as Private Leonard Gomer Pyle Lawrence in the military picture Full Metal Jacket and Detective Robert Goren in the criminal television series Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Carin van der Donk was born in 1970 in Netherlands. She was raised along with her older sister, Marjan van der Donk. Carin was always intrigued by the entertainment industry and wanted to be a part of the showbiz right from her childhood. After completing her education, Carin chose to become a model. She started her career by working for a couple of local brands.

She was then signed by the famous hair salon brand, Bumble & Bumble, for which she shot a video commercial back in the early 90s. The commercial was shot in New York City, where she met Vincent D’Onofrio in 1996. After her marriage, Carin’s modeling career took a back seat, which allowed her to explore her photography skills. She currently works as an amateur photographer, often collaborating with her sister Marjan for a number of projects

Carin married an actor Vincent after they both met for the first time in New York City in 1996. After dating for a few months, the pair have decided to exchange vows. Finally, the couple tied the wedding knot on March 22, 1997, in an intimate ceremony.

 

After one year of marriage, they welcomed their first child, Elias Gene D’Onofrio. In 2000, Carin and Vincent decided to end their relationship since it was difficult. They would eventually meet for the benefit of their son later on.

Because of these frequent communications, they were able to reconsider their decision, which ultimately resulted in their reunion. The couple’s second son, Luka D’Onofrio, was born in the year 2008.

Along with her two sons, Carin is also the stepmother of Leila George, her husband’s child from a previous engagement to Greta Scacchi, an actress.
