The Preterm Death

Clare Branson, daughter of Richard Branson, passed away at the age of four days from three months’ preterm before the end of 1979. When Clare was a patient in the Raigmore Hospital, acute respiratory failure was the reason for her death. She was later interred alongside other infants at the Tomnahurich Cemetery in Inverness, Scotland. The parents of Sara stated in a media interview that they still recall Sara’s absence in their family and that they never forgot the difficulties they encountered even after the passing of their cherished daughter.

Prior to the birth of Clare, Richard and Joan took a trip to Inverness, Scotland, but their trip was unsuccessful since Templeman was experiencing stomach pain from an episode of appendicitis. They then went for a checkup, at which point the physicians informed them that Clare was born prematurely at 25 weeks before the postnatal period was supposed to have begun due to their erroneous pregnancy timing.

After Clare passed away, Richard started Virgin Airlines, but faced bankruptcy because a bank manager organized his business’ drafts. As a result, his company almost went out of business. Additionally, the Branson family put their house up for sale. Nevertheless, Clare’s family still honors her passing year since they cherish their memories of her.
