In order to join the 2019 NFL draft, he later intended to drop out of school and forgo his last year of NCAA eligibility, but he ultimately made the decision to return to Ohio State for his final year of eligibility. On September 14, 2019, he defeated Indiana and scored his first career touchdown on a 97-yard interception return. After finishing the season with 35 tackles, eight passes defended, and one interception while still having a broken wrist, he was awarded second-team All-Big Ten.
