“Coaching the New York Knicks has been a tremendous pleasure for me, and I am grateful to Steve Mills, Scott Perry, and Jim Dolan for giving me this opportunity.” Every life experience teaches us something, and I am especially grateful for the lessons I have learned from the incredible group of people within the MSG family – from the players, coaches, development staff, and trainers to the arena crew, concession workers, and users – who have all treated my family and me so well during our time with the team.
“While it is clearly frustrating that we were unable to achieve the results we desired on the court, I am very glad that we were able to develop a system that values accountability, respect, and hard effort.” Although the short-term outcomes were not as expected, I am certain that the culture and values we prioritized will contribute to the growth and future success of the key young players who are already improving on a daily basis.
“I’ve been given the opportunity to build a career around the game of basketball.” I wish the whole Knicks organization and the City of New York the best, and I am looking forward to the adventure ahead.”
