Nonetheless, he was the one who brought Ronda Rousey to prominence as the first UFC women’s bantamweight champion. Sadly, Edmond was also accused of ending her career in an unfortunate manner.
But as per the saying, “If it matters, it creates controversies” and so did Edmond.
In addition to being the global boxing council Muay Thai welterweight champion, Edmond has won over 300 battles with a win rate of more than 90%.
Edmond is an outstanding former mixed martial arts combatant master. Yet, Edmond seems to have very little success as a coach.
Edmond Tarverdyan | Childhood & Early Years
American martial artist and educator Coach Edmond Tarverdyan teaches many martial arts. On December 15, 1981, he was born in Glendale, California.
Sadly, Tarverdyan hasn’t given the media any information about his upbringing, education, or family. We therefore don’t know anything about his parents, siblings, or upbringing.
He only gained media renown as a result of his line of work.
His coaching profession and the successful kids he was able to raise who are garnering media attention are without a doubt tied to his notoriety.
Career of Edmond Tarverdyan
In LOP, where he started his professional mixed martial arts career in 2012, Tarverdyan won each of his fights. As a martial arts fighter, he boasts a 90% success rate.
Similar to how Tarverdyan started teaching his own pupils soon after he had ended his career as a fighter in martial arts,
Sadly, Edmond has received more criticism and denigration than any other coach in the annals of mixed martial arts.
Ronda Rousey and Edmond Tarverdyan
As we have mentioned, Ronda Rousey, one of the most well-known figures in the MMA world, is Edmond’s most well-known student.
Similarly, Ronda has judo experience, whilst Edmond has kickboxing experience. Instead of coming up with game plans that played to his strengths, he decided to use Ronda’s instead. Tarverdyan received harsh criticism for the way he discarded his techniques during Rousey’s training sessions prior to the fights with Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes.
Additionally, since 2010, Edmond has collaborated with Ronda Rousey at Glendale Fight Club.
In August 2010, Ronda’s 23-second victory in her maiden amateur MMA match led him to collaborate with her more closely.
On November 15, 2015, Ronda was defeated by Holly Holm in the UFC 193 main event in Melbourne, Australia. After receiving criticism for teaching Ronda, Edmond remarked, “It’s the most disappointing thing I’ve ever experienced.
Despite everything, Ronda was able to maintain her position among the top 15 greatest female MMA fighters of all time.
Mother of Ronda chastised Edmond
The mother of Ronda, Ann Maria De Mars, claimed that Edmond is a terrible trainer. “Edmond hit the jackpot by bringing Ronda to his gym,” she remarked.
Additionally, Edmond yelled to his fighter, “Head nod,” during a battle. Following the UFC’s release of a video showing Edmond’s head moving, trolls swamped social media. His counsel has since spread throughout the audience as a running joke.
In addition, Edmond is viewed as the sport’s most despised coach because to his inability to create successful or even logical game plans for Ronda.
In addition, Edmond mentored Edmen Shahbazyan, who as of September 2020 is placed 11th in the UFC middleweight rankings.
In the same way, Edmond has trained other MMA fighters. Some others even alleged he damaged a couple trainees’ careers.
Ronda Rousey, Jessamyn Duke, Marina Shafir, and Travis Browne—all of whom are currently very successful fighters—were all coached by Tarverdyan.
The Wife, Kids, and Rumors of Edmond Tarverdyan
When Edmond married Diana Avetisyan, the allegation that he was dating Ronda Rousey was revealed to be untrue.
The public was unaware that Diana and Edmond were dating before they got married. They just got married after dating for almost two years, it was also revealed.
Ella and Roman Tarverdyan are the names of Diana and Edmond’s two children.
Roman Tarverdyan is the younger boy, who is four years old, and Ella Tarverdyan is the older daughter, who is seven years old.
Roman, Edmond’s son, enjoys playing soccer and is presently a student at LAUFA.
Edmond Tarverdyan | Issues License Revocation
The most derided and mocked coach in the annals of mixed martial arts is Edmond Tarverdyan. It seems as though he is completely unaware of stuff that even casual MMA fans would find evident.
The California Athletic Commission revoked Edmond Tarverdyan’s corner license in January 2016 as a result of Tarverdyan lying on his application for his “seconds” license in Boston and concealing his criminal background.
What criminal history does he have? Charges
He was accused of resisting arrest and two counts of criminal identity theft in 2010. Tarverdyan was detained in December 2010 on two counts of felony identity theft and one case of misdemeanor resisting arrest, according to public records.
In the end, Tarverdyan pled no guilty to all three charges after the identity theft counts were downgraded to misdemeanors. According to court records, the coach was found guilty in 2011 and given a one-day prison term with a one-day credit, three years of probation, 30 days of community service, and a 610 dollar fine on top of that.
Edmond Tarverdyan’s earnings and wealth
When asked how much he made from training, he once replied, “It was in the six-figure mark,” even though his compensation was never made public.
Even though he possesses a nice car, his Instagram page doesn’t go into great depth about it. Speaking of his net worth, EDMOND TARVERDYAN, ONE OF THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL COACHES, HAS A NET WORTH OF $2 MILLION.
Bankrupt EDMOND TARVERDYAN
In November 2015, just prior to Rousey’s crucial title match against Holly Holm, Edmond Tarverdyan filed for bankruptcy. Tarverdyan asserted that he did not own the Glendale Fighting Club and that he only had $3K in assets, while owing $700,000 to creditors and banks nationwide.
Although he is the coach of the current women’s bantamweight champion and the highest-paid female fighter in history, Edmond also asserted that he had no recent earnings.
He also stated that he had over $700,000 in debt and no apparent source of income. So even if Ronda hadn’t paid him, he would still be receiving more than he is entitled to.
Being a boxing and mixed martial arts instructor who is coaching one of the most successful fighters in business history and unable to capitalize on that shows that you are terrible with money.
Nevertheless, Edmond’s debts were as follows:
Chapter 7 bankruptcy is designed for “debtors in financial difficulty who do not have the ability to pay their existing debts.” Among his debts, Tarverdyan lists $136,925 owed to Bank of America, $117,714 to Barclays Bank Delaware, $194,252 to Citibank, $8,836 to Citibank Nk, $163,693 to Citibank South Dakota, $6,411 to Discover, $8,496 to Discover Bank, $11,953 to Glendale Memorial Hospital, $7,294 to HSBC Bank, $22,000 to HSBC Bank Nevada N.A., and $9,817 to Luis Samkow.
A settlement for his bankruptcy case in 2017 settled for $160,000 which also saved him from losing his membership at Glendale Fight Club.
