The most prolific goal-scoring midfielder to ever play football is probably Frank Lampard. He has 211 goals for Chelsea Football Club and most recently served as the club’s manager in London.

Frank Lampard is still revered by Chelsea supporters all over the world. Even now, and rightfully so, they sing songs of appreciation for his accomplishments and his sacrifices made for the club.

Once in a generation, players like Frank are available. They are the precious gems of football. For the diamond’s true beauty to shine, one must roughen the edges.

Chelsea was able to see the diamond they were carrying, but West Ham Football Club and its supporters were not. They gave him a rougher exterior so that he would become the jewel that he did. The football team and its supporters will always remember Frank’s contributions.

How did Frank Lampard Start His Career?

On May 11, Chelsea Football Club and Aston Villa were playing in a Premier League encounter. The club was losing the game badly because they were down 1-0 at the half.

The match was then leveled at 1-1 by Frank Lampard’s 202nd goal for Chelsea, like he had done countless times before. Frank would have considered scoring goals to be just another workday, but it wasn’t.

The goal marked a turning point in Lampard’s career as well as having great significance for the game. In particular, Bobby Tambling, another Chelsea Legend, had previously held the record for most goals scored by a player.

The game’s decisive goal was then scored by Lampard in the 88th minute, giving Chelsea three important points and elevating him to the club’s all-time greatest scorer with 203 goals.

This game served as the best possible illustration of Frank Lampard’s significance and his ability to lead throughout his time at the Chelsea Football Club.

Childhood

When we take a closer look at his early career, we discover that he wasn’t truly recognized as the prolific goal-scoring midfielder he ultimately developed into, which makes his feats even more remarkable.

On January 31, 1996, Lampard made his West Ham United debut. At the time, many West Ham supporters were critical of Lampard.

Many of them believed that Frank Lampard Sr., his father, was the sole reason he had the chance.

The younger Lampard received criticism since Harry Redknapp, who is also Frank Jr.’s uncle and a football club legend, managed the team at the time.

Many of those supporters believed that his inclusion in the first team was solely the result of nepotism, which over time caused their hatred for Frank to deepen. He played with the team for a further six seasons, making 189 appearances and tallying 39 goals.

As long as he was at the club, he was always referred to as “Frank Lampard’s Son,” which left him feeling unappreciated by the supporters.

As a result, following the 2000–2001 campaign, he departed the organization to sign with Chelsea, where he would go on to establish himself as the greatest goal-scoring midfielder in Premier League history.

Golden years at Chelsea Football Club

Frank paid 15 million pounds to join Chelsea. At the time, it was a sizable sum of money for a player. As a result, he was met with high expectations right away. For the first three years of his career with the club, he had a modest start for a normal player.

But Jose Mourinho, the self-described “Special One,” arrived at the same time as his great breakthrough season.

Following his treble with FC Porto, Mourinho decided he wanted to explore a new career challenge, and Chelsea Football Club was the ideal place for him to do it.

Jose viewed Chelsea as a young, talented team that lacked a few key components to truly develop into a strong, title-winning squad.

When a manager who shared Frank’s goals for success arrived, he elevated his game to a whole new level.

The English helped Chelsea win the Premier League by contributing a league-high 16 assists and scoring 13 goals (19 total) in the league. It put an end to the London-based team’s 50-year quest for a league championship.

Overall Career Statistics

Throughout his career, Frank Lampard broke a lot of records. He has scored the most goals for Chelsea Football Club overall. In 648 appearances, Lampard totaled 211 goals and 150 assists.

Even more impressive is Lampard’s ability to play box-to-box midfield. He completed all of his objectives and performed his defensive responsibilities for the squad.

The former English international joined Manchester City after leaving Chelsea in the summer of 2014, where he made 38 appearances and recorded eight goals and four assists.

As fate would have it, Lampard entered the game in the 78th minute and unavoidably scored a goal against the team for which he is most known.

For Frank and Chelsea, it was a bittersweet time. They were used to seeing the English national team score in their favor rather than against them. In the end, the score was tied at 1.

Frank also competed in Major League Soccer (MLS) for New York City FC, making 31 appearances and contributing 15 goals and four assists in 31 games.

Frank was a West Ham Football Club youth product, which is a lesser-known fact among the younger generation.

The Chelsea goal scorer with the most goals spent six years at West Ham. In his 171 games for the Hammers, he recorded 32 goals and 20 assists.

Every football player’s dream is to play for their country’s squad. The box-to-box midfielder was able to make 106 appearances for the three lions while also scoring 26 goals.

Retirement from Playing Career

Frank Lampard, a 32-year-old accomplished football player, believes that this is the ideal place to complete his 21-year playing career. He had a good time playing for all the teams he did.

Frank played 600 times for Chelsea, appeared in 106 England Cups, and won three Premier League trophies and one Champions League trophy while a member of the team.

Managerial Career

Derby County

Frank was a Chelsea youth coach before joining Derby County. He was in charge from July 1, 2017, to July 30, 2018.

Around May of last year, Frank signed a three-year contract to become the manager of Championship team Derby County. Tom Lawrence and Derby won 2-1 at Reading in his debut game in charge.

On August 11 against Leeds United, Frank suffered his first defeat. In fact, he took over the EFL Cup victory over Premier League team Manchester United on penalties in just his 12th game as manager, followed by a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.

After losing 2-0 against Leeds United in the rematch at Elland Road, the Leeds clinched first place in the Championship table. But this victory was the result of a massive conspiracy.

Leed’s head coach Marcelo Bielsa acknowledged sending a snitch to Derby’s practice facility the day before. Later, Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, said that in Argentina, the incident was “not a huge thing.”

After helping the team finish sixth in the 2018–19 Championship season, Lampard led the team to the Championship play-offs. Despite having a 2-1 record, the team lost to Aston Villa in the playoff championship.

Chelsea

Well, not everyone gets the glamorous chance to coach the side they must have previously played for. Frank Lampard, though, was sparkling and gleaming to see this accomplishment.

On July 4, 2019, Lamp signed a three-year contract to become the new head coach of his former team Chelsea. He was the team’s first English manager in more than 20 years thanks to this acquisition.

Speaking of his journey, his first match as Chelsea’s head coach was a heartbreaking 4-0 loss to Manchester United on the first day of the Premier League 2019–20 season.

In Chelsea’s first game since Danny Blanchflower’s squad was crushed 7-2 by Middlesbrough in December 1978, the manager nearly lost his job.

In the 2019 UEFA Super Cup, Lamp’s second game similarly ended in a loss to Liverpool on penalties. But he was not far from winning.

Lamp won his first game in charge of Chelsea, a 3-2 victory away to Norwich City. In the EFL Cup, Chelsea defeated League Two team Grimsby Town 7-1 for their first victory at home under Lampard.

Following Chelsea’s unblemished league record for the month, Frank was named Premier League Manager of the Month for October 2019.

How was the Networth Value of Frank Lampard?

The international player for England is valued $90 million. Frank deserves all the wealth because he is one of the best midfielders of his generation.

The box-to-box midfielder at Chelsea was one of the highest paid players at the time. Frank had been making a cool £7.84 million annually at one point.

Additionally, the prolific goal scorer’s final club, New York City FC, paid him $15 million year while he was a player.

At the moment, Lampard manages his beloved Chelsea, where he makes £4 million annually. On July 4, 2019, he committed to a three-year contract.

Famous players frequently sign rich endorsement contracts, and Lampard is no exception. Due to his endorsement agreements with Addidas, Pepsi, and Nanom, Chelsea’s leading scorer also makes an additional $6 million annually.

Lifestyle & Family

There are benefits to being one of the wealthiest football players in the world. Frank has an envied lifestyle as a result. Christine Bleakley Lampard, a sports analyst for Sky Sports, and he are happily married.

In 2015, the pair exchanged vows at a grandiose affair that was attended by numerous prominent businessmen and celebrities. In 2018, they gave birth to a girl they called Patricia Charlotte Lampard.

Additionally, Frank has two daughters—Luna (15 years old) and Isla (13 years old)—from his previous relationship with Elen Rivas, whom he split from in 2009. The England international, however, is ecstatic about his new family.

The family of the goal-scoring machine today resides in a $13 million house. He owned a second estate in Esher, but he reportedly sold it for $9.1 million.

The former Chelsea captain also owns a $940,000 house in Surrey and a $11 million town hall in London.

Frank also owns a terrace house in East London for $230,000. In addition, he has a flat in Leyton, two apartments in Cambridge, and residences in Docklands, London.

Frank Lampard, inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.

In May 2021, the English player Frank Lampard became the sixth athlete to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He has played for West Ham, Chelsea, and Manchester City in the Premier League during the course of a 20-year distinguished career, making him one of the most complete and skilled midfielders.

The first two honorees were Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer, and later Frank, Eric Cantona, and Roy Keane joined them. He is quite grateful to be among the famous people because, as a little boy, he yearned for this type of adulation.

Frank has consistently reached double digits in goals for 10 straight seasons, and the process has gradually elevated him to the top scorer in Chelsea history.
