French professional basketball player Frank Ntilikina was born in Belgium. He is a point guard for the NBA League’s Dallas Mavericks.

When Ntilikina started playing professionally as a teenager back in France, he attained great international reputation.

As a result, he was given the opportunity to play in the 2014 Jordan Brand Classic International Game. In addition, he went on to win the French League’s best young player title two years in a row.

He eventually started playing in the NBA after the New York Knicks selected him in the 2017 draft.

Sadly, despite spending close to five years in the largest basketball league in the world, the French point guard has yet to have a standout NBA season.

Frank, though, is still quite young and has plenty of time to refine his play. He also has the necessary potential, which was already on exhibit while he was representing his country on the court.

Childhood And Family

On July 28, 1998, Frank Bryan Ntilikina was born in Ixelles, Belgium. He is Faustin and Jacqueline Ntilikina’s youngest child. Additionally, Yves and Brice, his two older brothers, live with the family.

Frank’s ancestry can be traced back to the African country of Rwanda, despite the fact that he was born in Belgium and has French citizenship. When Rwanda was raging in the Civil War in the 1990s, his mother, Jacqueline, had fled to Europe.

Later, at the age of three, his entire family moved to Strasbourg, France. He was raised in that new city and started playing basketball at a very young age.

His passion for the sport, though, was acquired from his brothers. When they were in Belgium, they had first played the game with their younger brother in the neighborhood park.

Basketball was their favorite sport, and his siblings were excellent students. Frank, on the other hand, only enjoyed basketball and started competing in competitions when he was five.

Additionally, he has always been quite interested in music and singing.

Jacqueline worked for a number of businesses in the meantime to provide for her kids. However, she used to have trouble getting food because her earnings were frequently insufficient to cover all of her bills.

She still recalls the difficult moments when she had to wait in a lengthy line in front of food bands. All of her sons are now successful professionals in their various industries.

Yves, the oldest brother of Frank, is a surgeon, and Brice, the other brother, is a physical therapist. Like Frank, who persisted in his basketball career and is now an NBA player.

How did he start his Career?

Since he was five years old, Frank has been playing basketball with St. Joseph Strasbourg School and has developed the requisite skills. He eventually joined the French basketball team’s youth academy in 2013.

While attending the academy for two years, he advanced quickly.

He was invited to the 2014 Jordan Brand Classic International match as a result of his impressive performance, and he had a terrific experience there. In roughly 23 minutes of action, he scored six points and grabbed three rebounds.

Before making his professional league debut, he also coached Strasbourg’s junior squad to win in the 2015 French Youth League Championship.

He had a standout performance throughout his two seasons with the SIG Strasbourg team in the LNB Pro A. He received consecutive Pro A Best Young Player awards in 2016 and 2017.

Frank soon attracted the interest of American basketball agencies and rose to the status of one of the prospects with a chance to play in the NBA. He ultimately made the decision to depart from Europe and enter the 2017 NBA draft.

NBA Career

Frank was selected by the New York Knicks with the eighth pick in the first round of the draft, despite rumors that the Dallas Mavericks would choose him. On July 5, 2017, he penned a contract with the Knicks.

With that signing, he rose to the second-youngest player to play in the NBA that season.

On October 19, the Knicks forced him to play as a mystery player against the Oklahoma City Thunders, but they were defeated 105-84. He played 78 games in his rookie NBA season because they believed in his ability.

Sadly, though, his performance was below par. He could only manage 5.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. His assists per game were the only aspect of his play that merited praise.

In comparison to his rookie season, where he averaged 5.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per game, his second season with the team was worse. Even worse, he sustained numerous injuries and missed lots of games.

Frank was repeatedly criticized for being a draft bust due to his poor performances, but the Knicks persisted and gave him one more season to prove himself.

Frank didn’t show much improvement, though, and the team eventually dealt him to the Dallas Mavericks in 2021 after he had a dismal fourth season.

Although he is playing for the Mavericks throughout the current 2021–22 season, his performance is still dismal, averaging 4.3 points per game in more than 50 games.

International Career

Frank Ntilikina has competed for his club team as well as the French national team in a variety of international competitions. When they won the 2014 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship in Latvia, he received his first international trophy.

In addition, he helped France win the 2016 FIBA Europe U-18 Championship by averaging 15.2 points and 4.5 assists, earning him the title of Most Valuable Player.

Additionally, he has made a number of memorable plays for his country’s team. In actuality, his international career is significantly more fulfilling than his professional career.

Awards & Achievements

Some of his awards and achievements include:

  • FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship MVP (2016)
  • Pro A Best Young Player (2016, 2017)
  • Gold at FIBA Europe U-16 Championship (2014)

How was the Networth Value of Frank?

The majority of sources estimate that the French point guard Frank Ntilikina is worth between $1 and $5 million.

He had begun earning a living in France by playing professional basketball. However, it is unknown how much he was paid there.

He currently makes a sizable sum of money, primarily from NBA league games. When Frank first entered the NBA, he had a four-year deal with the New York Knicks worth about $18 million.

He received about 3.5 million from the Knicks just for his rookie campaign. It was widely believed that his pay would skyrocket in the years to come, but sadly, his performance dropped.

The foreign player could not earn as much as was anticipated as a result. Ntilikina joined the Dallas Mavericks in 2021 and is currently a member of the team after agreeing to a $3.8 million, two-year deal.

In the current 2021–22 season, Frank is the Mavericks team’s 15th highest paid athlete. His yearly pay is roughly $1.78 million.

He has already earned about $18.6 million overall in his NBA career.

The young basketball star from around the world also makes money in other ways. Numerous well-known brands are interested in Ntilikina.

On February 20, 2020, he recently agreed to a contract with the Adidas shoe company. With that signing, the company has appointed him as a brand ambassador in France. Additionally, he has participated in numerous fashion shows as a model.

Likewise, he frequently appears on the covers of well-known magazines. The basketball player and model Gigi Hadid shared the Vogue cover in 2017.

Injuries

Frank recently sprained his right ankle during practice as the 2021–22 NBA season is coming to an end.

He missed a crucial game on March 30 against the Cleveland Cavaliers as a result of his injury. As he has not yet fully recovered from his injury, the team has also confirmed that he won’t play in a forthcoming game against the LA Lakers.

He’s been hurt before, though, so it’s not brand new. Due to a groin injury, he had missed nearly half of the games in the 2018–19 campaign.

What is the Relationship status of Frank Ntilikina?

Frank is not dating anyone right now because he is single. On the internet, there are also no rumors about his prior relationships. Therefore, it is highly likely that he has never been in a relationship.

Throughout his NBA career, the young French talent hasn’t had any memorable performances. He still needs to put in a lot of effort if he wants to stay in the NBA given the standards of the league.

He is therefore developing his game and attempting to keep his distance from romantic relationships for the time being. But everyone knows what a sweetheart he is, and lots of women want him.

Therefore, we will inform you if he ever becomes involved in a romantic relationship in the future.
