International Level

He then swam on the world’s greatest sporting stage (Olympics). Detti did compete in the only 1500m freestyle race, finishing 13th.

He finished 14th, 11th, and 19th in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m freestyle events at the FINA World Championships in Shanghai the following year. He did, however, break the European 800m freestyle record in the Italian Championship.

Later, at the European Aquatics Championship in Berlin, Detti earned his first senior international medal, finishing third in the 800m and 1500m freestyle.

In addition to the 400m, he finished fourth and sixth in the 800m freestyle relay. The following year, in 2015, he was unable to compete in the World Championship due to a severe urinary tract infection.
