He withdrew his remaining three years of college eligibility after making his NBA draft announcement in April 2013.

Portland Trail Blazers selected Jerrett with the 40th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

He later joined the Oklahoma City Thunder for the 2013 NBA Summer League after being transferred to them using his draft rights.In the 2013 NBA Development League Draft, the Tulsa 66ers, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s D-League affiliate team, also chose him with the first overall pick.

In April 2014, Jerrett agreed to play the remainder of the 2013–14 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
