Jake, who is of mixed ancestry and has American citizenship, was raised by his American mother Helen Anne Tapper and his American father Theodore S. Aaron J. Hahn Tapper is the name of Jake’s other sibling.

Tapper was raised in Queen Village, where his mother was a retired psychiatric nurse and his father was a professor at Jefferson Medical College.

Education

Regarding academic requirements, Tapper enrolled in the Merion, Pennsylvania-based Akiba Hebrew Academy. Later, he received a Bachelor’s degree in history with a visual studies modification from Dartmouth College. The University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television was another institution that Tapper attended.

In 2004, while Jake was covering the Iowa caucuses for Good Morning America, he first met his wife at a hotel bar.

“I knew I wasn’t going to continue since it was the day before the caucuses and all the heavy hitters had flown in. I left with my producer after that. We suggested going to the Kerry campaign headquarters since that is where the party would be when [John] Kerry won. And when I entered the Hotel Fort Des Moines, Jennifer was there.

“I approached her when I saw her, and the next day we went out in D.C., and that was it.”
