The idea of trampoline gymnastics as a male sport has persisted over time. But when Kat Driscoll was named the best trampoline athlete in the world, she disproved everyone’s assumptions.

Kat developed a keen interest in trampoline gymnastics at a young age, and she was only seven when she first tried it.

When Kat was in elementary school, she attended Rochester Grammar School, which was a girls-only institution.

Additionally, she belonged to the Gillingham Jumpers Trampoline Club (Kent).

Additionally, Kat attended MidKent College for a year, from September 2003 to July 2004, to complete a Diploma in the BTEC and Sport course after graduating from grammar school.

From the World Age Games, Kat entered the international circuit for the first time in 1998, and her professional career took off after that.

How Did She Start Her Career?

Even though a new journey began in 1998, she did not start practicing gymnastics on a full-time basis until 2010.

After receiving funding from UK Sport, Kat also won the 2009 Aalsmeer Flower Cup before she began working as a full-time trampolinist.

She started her career in 2010 and soon after won the British Championship twice. During the 2011 World Cup tournaments, she placed in the top three on two occasions.

Kat competed in the Trampoline World Championships in Birmingham, England, the next year.

She placed ninth at the 2012 Olympics, however since each National Olympic Committee was only allowed to send two athletes, China had four competitors in the top eight.
