Allen was taken by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 50th overall pick in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft.

Allen withdrew from the French league after the NBA’s strike was resolved, and in December 2011 he agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

He re-signed with the Philadelphia 76ers in July 2012 for a two-year, $6 million contract, and in his second campaign there, he averaged 5.8 points and 5.0 rebounds.

In February 2014, Allen was transferred to the Indiana Pacers.

During his time with the Pacers, he scored 13 points against the 76ers and contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds against the Orlando Magic.

He joined with the Zhejiang Golden Bulls of China in 2017 after becoming an unrestricted free agent, however he never appeared on the field for the group.
