Currently, Davis is an anchor on the sports news television program SportsCenter on ESPN. Similarly, he is the studio host of several programs on ESPN, including the football roadshow College GameDay.

Leigh Davis’s Childhood, Family, and Education

Leigh Langley Davis grew up in Columbus, Georgia. However, we were unable to locate any information about her family history.

She graduated from Columbus High School in 1979. She then enrolled at Auburn University in Alabama. Davis now resides in Hartford County, Connecticut. She relocated to the suburbs after her husband was hired by ESPN.

Davis worked as a sales rep for WRBL-TV. She began working at their Columbus location immediately after graduating from college.

At the time, it was her dream job, and she enjoyed working at the television station. She did, however, leave her job after getting married.

Rece Davis was working as a news anchor at WRBL-TV when he first met Leigh Langley. Davis was immediately drawn to Leigh, so he began looking for a casual way to approach her. As a result, he pretended he didn’t know how to use the fax machine so she could assist him.

Davis and Leigh became closer after Davis was required to submit a press credential to cover a game against Auburn, which Leigh attended. Rece proposed to her in August 1993, after they began dating.

Four months later, on December 13, the couple exchanged wedding vows. They’ve been married for more than two decades.


Rece and Leigh share two children. Their older son, Christopher, was born in 1999, and their younger daughter, Elizabeth, was born in 2000.

The couple raised their children in Avon, Connecticut. Similarly, they attended Avon Old Farms School.

Chris was a baseball and football player in high school. He was the baseball team’s captain. Chris was also the student body president and a member of the student council.

He was an excellent student and received the Yale Book Award in his junior year. He also went to Princeton University in New Jersey.

In 2021, he will join Duke University’s baseball team, where he will pursue his master’s degree in business.

Elizabeth, unlike her brother, is interested in theater and acting. She attended New York University and now resides in New York City.

The siblings have a strong bond. They are constantly supportive of one another and compliment one another on their accomplishments.

Injury to a Son

Chris played Division I baseball for Princeton University. He suffered a severe injury after colliding with another teammate during a game in March 2017.

He did not leave the game immediately and continued to play despite his injury. His condition, however, deteriorated a few hours later. His family rushed him to the hospital, where it was discovered that he had ruptured his spleen.

Chris received treatment at Washington Hospital Medical Center and underwent two surgeries.

Rece Davis had an eye-opening experience. Davis was able to see sports-related injuries in a new light, owing to the fact that they affected the athlete’s family members just as much.

Chris was finally able to return to college after taking months off to recover. But it was a difficult time for him, so Leigh relocated closer to his college to assist him with his recovery.

Leigh purchased an apartment close to Princeton University. She carried his books and other college materials for him as he moved from class to class.

Davis went to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to attend the University of Alabama. Furthermore, he earned two Bachelor’s degrees in Broadcast News and Public Affairs in 1988.
