Biography
On July 31, 1951, in Manhattan, New York, Leon Black was born. He is the offspring of prominent Jewish businessman Eli Black. The business formerly owned United Brands, and his family is an immigrant from Poland. His mother gave him the motivation to pursue art, and in 1975, his father committed suicide by jumping off the Pan Am Building.
Leon eventually graduated with a BA in Philosophy and History. He received his diploma from Dartmouth College in 1973. He earned his MBA from Harvard University in 1975. In addition, Leon served on the board of trustees for Dartmouth College from 2002 until 2011.
