Velma Davis was Turner’s second wife, whom he wed on September 19, 1950. They had a daughter named Linda, although according to his one book, she wasn’t their biological child. Then, in West Memphis, Arkansas, he wed Rosa Lee Sane.

At 11:38 am on December 12, 2007, the legend passed away at the age of 76. According to reports, Turner’s ex-wife Ann Thomas discovered him dead at his San Marcos, California, home.
On December 22, 2007, he was laid to rest at the Gardena, California, City of Refuge Church. Phil Spector, Little Richard, and Solomon Burke were among those who spoke at the funeral service. The Rhythm Kings performed renditions of “Proud Mary” and “Rocket 88.” Following the funeral, Ike was cremated.
Turner overdosed on cocaine, according to a report released on January 16, 2008 by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. His cocaine intoxication, along with other serious illnesses such hypertensive cardiovascular disease and pulmonary emphysema, was the cause of death.
