Professional Life

When Luka Romero joined the Ibiza-based Penya Esportiva Sant Jordi academy in 2011, his football career officially got underway. He tried out unsuccessfully for FC Barcelona in 2011. Being under ten and not a resident of the area at the time prevented the club from signing him.

He spent four years working out at Sant Jordi before committing to the Spanish team RCD Mallorca on an eight-year deal. Romero scored 230 goals in just 108 games while playing for the club’s youth team. While playing for the club’s junior team in June 2020, he was called up to the senior squad.

He received a special permit when he was 15 years and 221 days old. However, he didn’t play in the team’s game against Villareal CF as a substitution. He played his first La Liga game against Real Madrid on June 24, 2020. He entered the scene to fill in for Iddrisu Baba. Real Madrid were defeated 2-0 by Mallorca.
