Burrous then began to feel uneasy and passed out. His partner dialed 911, but the anchor passed away on the way to the hospital. Chris died of a heroin overdose on February 22, 2019, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner. The autopsy reports confirmed that he died as a result of methamphetamine intoxication.
