Maycee Barber is an American mixed martial artist. She currently fights in the flyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). UFC is the widely known premium Mixed Martial Art (MMA) promotion company.

The UFC had categorized fighters in various divisions based on their weight. The fighters weighing between 116 to 125 lbs (53 to 57 kg) are placed in the flyweight division. Maycee might be a little messy outside the octagon, but she never misses a movement inside it. She had made a big name for herself at such an early age.

She devoted her life to practicing and learning MMA. It won’t be wrong if we say that Maycee was born to be an MMA Star.

Maycee Barber is from where? Childhood and Family

Maycee Barber was born in Greeley, Colorado, on May 18, 1998. Bucky and Maryanne Barber, her proud parents, gave birth to her.

Maycee is one of her parents’ six children. She is the second child. Bucky and Maryanne Barber introduced martial arts to practically all of their children at a young age.

Maycee began Karate when she was three years old. By the age of 13, she was qualified to teach martial arts to adults at their family’s martial arts academy in Fort Collins, Colorado. Bucky and Maryanne wanted their children to be strong and robust, but they never considered encouraging them to make it a career.

Maycee told her parents when she was 13 or 14 years old how badly she wanted to be a UFC fighter. They couldn’t reply with grace because they didn’t want to witness their small girl get punched and kicked.

They taught their children MMA for self-defense. Nonetheless, they rallied around her after realizing that her daughter’s happiness is found in those punches and kicks.

Maycee’s Family | It was a family affair.

The family came to the conclusion that Maycee needed the best training possible since the better she gets, the fewer punches she will take.

Maycee’s parents took her throughout the country in search of chances and new techniques.

They were so obsessed with making Maycee the best that they drove every other week from Fort Collins to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In New Mexico, Maycee worked with Greg Jackson and Brandon Gibson. They attempted to link Maycee’s fate to Matt Hume, who is regarded as one of the top MMA teachers.

Maycee became involved with Team Alpha Male. Her parents forced her to meet and learn from people like Ryan Schultz and Matt Pena, Marc Montoya and Izzy Martinez, and others. Some of the coaches were troubled by the’meeting and learning from everyone in the firm’ idea.

Bucky Barber, on the other hand, didn’t care what an outsider thought. He remained firm in his belief that they must do everything possible to ensure his daughter’s well-being.

He previously stated that he would gladly close his firm and go halfway across the country to help his daughter. No one, it is thought, can raise a girl kid better than a feminist father.

Bucky Barber is, in fact, both a father and a feminist. Maycee would not be the champion today if it weren’t for Bucky and Maryanne.

Maycee and The Family | The Team That Got Her There.

Barber has worked with a variety of coaches. Her father compares her to a Bruce Lee-style martial artist who needs a little bit of everything.

He believes that his child has had enough practice, and that continuing to mess with the same coach will impair her cognitive abilities. At a high black belt level, she did two or three reps. As a result, meeting new people and absorbing their ideas would be extremely beneficial to her.

Maycee achieved a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu after watching an online video series with her older sister, Emma Barber, at Gracie University. In fact, it was more like learning from Emma after she had adapted from the video.

Then came the transition.

Bucky and Maryanne were forced to close their martial arts academy and relocate to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They did it in order to help Maycee and her younger brother, Wyatt.

The Barber siblings subsequently moved on to elite coaching. Maycee received her training at Factory X from Marc Montoya.

Furthermore, the family changed their business from an MMA academy to a coffee store. They bought one after finding it on sale online. Maycee had to be an MMA fighter. It was for the entire Barber family, not just her.

Wyatt Barber, her brother, is presently signed to Bellator MMA. Bellator MMA is an MMA promotion based in Santa Monica, California. The Tapology website has the most recent fight details and records for Barber.

Barber was forced to withdraw everything due to her injury. Her left knee has a total ACL tear.

The injury occurred during the first round of her bout with Roxanne Modafferi, according to reports. She was spotted clumsily stepping on Modafferi’s foot. Barber’s injury was supposed to keep him out for nine months. However, it left her paralyzed for 11 months.

The Covid-19 epidemic may have also contributed to the delay. According to her father, she must have harmed herself inside the first 10 seconds.

She did, however, manage to resume fighting. Between the second and third rounds of the fight, a Nevada State Athletic Commission ringside physician checked her knee. He described it as a little, partial ACL injury. However, the outcome proved to be disastrous.
