The Year 2014
Skinner earned the gold for both vault and floor exercise in March, but she stood on the fourth podium for the all-around at the City of Jesolo Trophy.
She also stood as a member of the winners team at the City of Jesolo Trophy.
MyKayla competed at the Pan American Championships in Mississauga, Canada, in August and September.
Skinner helped carry the victory home as the American team placed first in the team competition.
Skinner stood first for all-around and the vault round in the individual counting, scoring 56.850 and 15.037, respectively.
However, at the event’s conclusion, she stood seventh for the balance beam scoring 13.475 but claimed first place on the floor, scoring 14.750.

Skinner debuted the season on March 7, 2015, racing at the 2015 AT&T American Cup, hosted in Arlington, Texas. She got 57.832; consequently, she took second place after Simone Biles.
Although Skinner had a recent ankle injury, she competed in the U.S Secret Classic on July 25. She then finished 7th in the all-around with a score of 55.500.
Skinner stood on the 12th due to her various fall-backs in the event. Skinner fell back-handspring tuck entire sequence on the beam.

In November 2014, Skinner initially consented to a National Letter of Intent with the University of Utah and the Utah Red Rocks program.
Later, she put off enrolling at Utah for a year so she could concentrate on winning the 2016 Olympics.
