Nyjah Huston is well-known in the skating community. However, this well-known skateboarder had a life that was anything but smooth on the way to where he is now.

In addition to being born and reared in a strict Rastafarian family in the highlands, Huston’s life story also includes being compelled to pursue skating, rising to fame as a skateboarding prodigy at age 11, and causing his parents’ divorce.

Nyjah overcame these obstacles to establish himself as one of the most renowned and well-paid skateboarders in history.

Nyjah Houston is now regarded as the most well-known skateboarder of the current era. Houston has won numerous skateboarding competitions, including five times at the World Street Championships.

The famed and highest-paid street skateboarder Nyjah Huston’s life narrative was highlighted today. But first, let’s look at some of his short facts.

Childhood

On November 30, 1994, Nyjah Huston was born in California, USA. He was the youngest child born to his father, Adeyemi Huston, and mother, Kelle Huston.

Huston was born into a mixed-race family, with a white mother and a black and Japanese father. Huston wore dreadlocks as a teenager because he was born into a Black and Rastafarian family and was reared in one.

Four siblings total—three older brothers, one sister, and Nyjah—make up her family. Ahbi, Kiade, and Jahmai Huston are his brothers, while Isha Huston is her younger sister.

How did he start skating career?

The inspiration for Huston’s skateboarding career came from his father. When he was in high school, his father enjoyed skating and encouraged his kids to do the same.

All of his children were required to skateboard by his father, and Nyjah began skating at the age of five. In order to improve him skating, he built ramps all around the yard and even purchased him an indoor skatepark in 2003.

His father used to record him skating and edit the footage so that it could be shared with others. Additionally, he used to sign up for skateboarding contests in California.

Nyjah began to improve his skateboarding abilities, despite the fact that it originally felt somewhat forced. Nyjah claimed that his father forbade them from participating in any other sports save riding motorcycles and shooting hoops.

Their family business was skateboarding, and his father used to let them skate all day. Nyjah spent the most of his childhood honing his skateboarding abilities.

Nyjah acknowledges that he is appreciative of his father for pointing him in this direction, and he asserts that if it weren’t for his father, he wouldn’t be alive today

The struggling phase

Huston’s father relocated the family to a mountainous area of Puerto Rico in 2006. He used Nyjah’s income to purchase the 26-acre estate.

According to Nyjah, he was unaware of the reason behind his father’s dramatic action. He claims that he likely committed the act because he was at the time a little into girls and partying.

Nyjah’s father just wanted him to concentrate on his career. Nyjah had to endure rigorous and difficult living circumstances.

He used to skate all day and had no buddies there. His mother taught him at home, and he had to eat only vegan food.

His absence from the squad and public appearances due to his location from California had caused problems with his sponsors, Element Skateboard.

He was about to be dismissed from the team. His mother and father became deeply divided as a result of this. The result of all of this was the divorce.

His father then urged Nyjah to move in with him. After his mother and siblings left, Nyjah was left with his father by himself.

Nyjah returned to California with his mother after his mother won custody of him in 2010. Since that time, he hasn’t spoken to his father.

Nyjah’s battle, however, didn’t end there because the family still had to deal with financial issues. Nyjah possessed this skill for skating.

He entered multiple skateboarding contests in an effort to obtain the top prize money to help his family.

Professional Skateboarding Career

When he was barely 11 years old, Huston began his professional skateboarding career. He was the youngest competitor in the history of the X-games, and Element skateboards was his sponsor.

He did, however, leave Element in 2008 to launch his own skateboard business. He started his business, I&I, in 2009, but things didn’t turn out the way he had hoped.

Huston therefore went back to Element to continue his professional skating career once I&I closed.

Huston sadly had hand bruises four days prior to the competition. Huston didn’t receive any medals as a result.

Both Huston and his friends and admirers expressed disappointment. The skateboarding champion consoled himself and his supporters by reminding them that he is also a person with highs and lows in his professional life.

He unduly apologized to those who had high hopes for him but were disappointed by him. Houston simply wasn’t cut out for the Tokyo Olympics, and he had to go home empty-handed.

Tatoo

On average, Huston has tattoos covering 80–90% of his body.

When he got his first tattoo in 2013 while competing in Florida, his infatuation with tattoos began.

His forearm was then inked with Thrasher’s “Skate and Destroyed” lyrics.

He has since begun to have tattoos all over his body. His body is covered in a vast array of tattoos, including compass flowers lions heart signs skulls and more.

On his neck and chest, respectively, he would have tattoos of a lion and a mandala with an eye and a triangle.
