Early Years of Oribe Peralta

Peralta’s parents, Miguel Angel Peralta Ruelas and Julieta Morones de Peralta, welcomed him into the world on January 12, 1984, under the Capricorn horoscope.

Additionally, even though Oribe was the oldest, he grew up alongside his other three siblings. Due to their father’s meager earnings from a metal rod manufacturer, their family was destitute.

Peralta also spent his formative years in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, where he first developed a passion for football.

After that, his first structured team arrived when he was 13 years old in Los Vagos. He also played for La Partida versus the other Municipalities in Torreon during his senior year of high school in 1998.

Meanwhile, Peralta’s father encouraged him to pursue his goal, and for training, he used to run through La Partida’s parking lots.

As a young man with aspirational goals, he had made a promise to his father that if he advanced to join the CESIFUT (Synergy Center of Football) in Lerdo, Durango, he would make it till the World Cup of Brazil.

He had finished elementary school and was enrolled in high school at the time, and his mother did not want him to discontinue his studies.

Similar to how he scored twice in the exhibition game against CESIFUT, he ended up with shattered tibia and fibula, which prevented him from playing football for a year.

His biggest obstacle came from the catastrophe itself, which rendered him immobilized for a whole year. He did, however, return to the field after recovering for weeks and days.

Even with them, his voyage was still lengthy, and as a result, he occasionally considered abandoning up and working a regular job to support his family.

He was fortunate enough to always get the answer “No” from his father, who had managed to provide enough money for the family so that Peralta may pursue his aspirations.

He eventually joined Alacranes de Durango, a professional team in the Liga Premier de México, after a series of trials and errors.

In the meantime, Oscar Ruggeri, the head coach of C.D. Guadalajara, was drawn to him because of his unique hairdo, earning him the moniker “The Brush.”

He therefore took the first step toward his club career when Rubén Omar Romano, the manager, suggested that he give the Monarcas Morelia a shot.

Monarcas Morelia – Oribe Peralta | Club Career

Peralta played for the team just briefly after making his debut on February 22, 2003. In the second half of his league debut against Club América, he played as a replacement and helped the team lose 1-2.

In a similar vein, he also played against Cruz Azul during his rookie campaign.

As a result, Paltera had no games for the next two seasons and was therefore hired by León in the second level.

He so played in the Clausura tournament for this club in 2004 after making 33 additional appearances and scoring 10 goals; he ultimately won the competition.

Monterrey

Afterward, as Peralta moved towards the Monterrey, he played with them for the two seasons. He also played in his first game for the team against UANL in the second half, which they defeated 2-6.

Furthermore, impressed with him, Ricardo La Volp gave him an opportunity to participate for the Mexican national team in March 2005 against Argentina; nonetheless, he struggled to fulfill the chance and faith given upon him.

Along his journey, he made it to the first division, where he recorded his first goal as a replacement against the team Cruz Azul.

Therewith, he took the game by the storm of win with 3–0. Overall, his primary season ended with five goals in 22 matches as they went on to the finals but, tragically, lost to UNAM.

Altogether, towards the end of the season, he had managed to score two goals in 22 matches since the playing time for him was limited.

Guadalajara

Peralta could appear for the Guadalajara for only a short period of four matches as he was loaned to them. In truth, he was only offered as a reinforcement for the 2005 Copa Libertadores competition, where he was unable to score any goals.

Santos Laguna

For the season of 2006, he connected with the Santos Laguna, where he made his foremost appearance against his former club, Monterrey. By the end of the season, he had played 17 totals matches where he had 9 goals and 7 assists.

Chiapas

Like before, Santos Laguna loaned Peralta to the Chiapas, where his career was short-lived as he only had a one-year commitment to Jaguares for the Clausura competition. In the brief term of one year, he made 35 appearances, where he tallied 12 goals.

Santos Laguna (Return)

As Peralta returned to the team Santos Laguna, he made his move towards his real breakthrough in 2010. Right then, he started marking his name for both the club and the country as he shined as Santos Laguna’s main striker.

At the same moment, he featured in 225 games while scoring 82 goals and also earning the Clausura 2008 and 2012 championships.

It happened during a match against the Puebla at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc, which was also bagged as a 4–0 triumph.

The complete league title was scored by Peralta for the team on December 14 against the Tigres UANL. He had the third and final score during the game in an aggregate score of 3-1.

Two years later, in the same Apertura tournament, Peralta struck his first career hattrick on 23 July in a 3–1 victory over Toluca. Following it, at the Summer Olympics versus Cruz Azul, he suffered an injury.

After his rehabilitation, he stood as the team captain since Rubens Sambueza (Captain) and Moisés Muñoz (Vice-captain) left the club. Right then, he was also crowned the club’s leading scorer with eight goals.

Guadalajara (Return)
