His first-ever start of success in his career came after he was employed by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 38th overall choice in the 2016 NBA Draft on June 23, 2016.

In a 110-106 victory over the Sacramento Kings on November 27, 2017, Patrick, who was filling in for Stephen Curry, recorded a season-high 16 points, a best-career high of 7 assists, and four steals.
Late in the third quarter of the Warriors’ 112-96 victory over the Kings, McCaw was forced to leave the game after a risky landing after Vince Carter’s undercut.
McCaw was brought to the UC Davis Medical Center for an examination after suffering a lower body injury after a play hit. He was released the following day with a bruised lumbar spine.
Following his rehabilitation, he participated in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets.
