Rory Lee Feek is an American singer and songwriter who was once married to late singer Joey Martin aka Joey Feek. Rory and his late wife had formed a duo named Joey+Rory. Together, they performed live concerts until her death.
Rory was born on April 25, 1965, in Atchison, Kansas. He generally sings in the country genre and is known for his country hits. Even after Joey’s demise, Rory can be seen wearing his wedding ring.
Biography
Rory Lee Feek was born in Atchison, Kansas on April 25th , 1965 – although some websites list his birth year as 1966. At the age of fifteen, Rory learned to play the guitar while in high school .
After high school, Rory served in the United States Marine Corp for eight years. Although Rory is proud of his service to his country, he always had a passion for music, which is why he returned to seek music after service. He chose to follow his dreams and moved to Dallas, Texas. Rory chose Texas to start his career because of the developed music scene there. He rented an apartment in Dallas in the mid-1990s hoping to find an agent or collaborators.
First Marriage With Tamara Gilmer
On August 3, 1985, Rory wed Tamara Gilmer, his longtime lover. They held a secret wedding ceremony and invited only close family and friends. Throughout Tamara and Rory’s marriage, they were fortunate to have two children. Currently, both of their daughters, Heidi Feek and Hopie Feek, work as producers for movies.

After seven years of idyllic marriage, Rory and Tamara started fighting. On March 25, 1992, they divorced after separating.
Second Marriage With Joey
Joey and Rory became fast friends after meeting at a songwriter’s night. On June 15, 2002, they exchanged vows and walked down the aisle before becoming husband and wife. After that, the couple started working together and even started a band called Joey+Rory. Following that, Rory and Joey performed countless times live.

The couple delayed starting a family for almost twelve years. So, on February 17, 2014, their lone child, a baby girl named Indiana Boone Feek, was born. In their Indiana house, Joey gave birth to Indiana with the assistance of midwives, her sisters, and grandma. Indiana has had down syndrome since she was born.
Joey’s Death Ended Rory’s Second Marriage
Sadly, Joey passed away on March 4, 2016, leaving Rory and her daughter, who was two years old, without her. In May 2014, she received a cervical cancer diagnosis. She later received the all-clear and didn’t require therapy. But a year later, Joey started to feel unwell and had to rely on medical guidance. She underwent many procedures after that.

In his blog THIS LIFE I LIVE, Rory started discussing his wife’s health and their favorite times together. Joey said her last goodbyes to her loved ones in February 2016 and informed them that she was prepared to put an end to the conflict. She dozed out for the next week after that.
Joey passed away on March 4, 2016, and she was laid to rest in the cemetery next to her parents. She did, however, live to see Indiana’s second birthday, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, the start of the new year, and their song’s Grammy nomination. When she was buried, she was still sporting her wedding band.

Today, Rory is a well-known experienced singer, songwriter, and musician. His trip, on the other hand, began at a very young age. He began playing guitar when he was 15 years old.
