At the Universities of Miami, Pittsburgh, Virginia, and Colombia, Seth Greenberg served as an assistant coach. Between 1978 and 1987, he worked as an assistant coach at these universities.
Under Buddy Mahar, the head coach at Columbia University, he served as an assistant coach. Greenberg later worked as Roy Chipman’s assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh from 1980 to 1983.

Men’s basketball head coach for the Virginia Tech Hokies
In 2003, Greenberg departed South Florida to work for the NCAA Virginia Tech Hokies men’s basketball team. He worked there for nine years until his contract was abruptly ended in 2012 without giving him any prior notice.
Throughout his nine seasons with the Virginia Tech Hokies, he amassed a 170-123 record.
2003-2008
When Virginia Tech played in its final Big East Conference season, he began his coaching career there. Later, in 2004, they became a part of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
In Greenberg’s second season as coach, Virginia Tech qualified for the 2005 NIT.Additionally, in his second season, Greenberg received the Coach of the Year award from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
