Shane Battier was born in Michigan, in the United States, on September 9, 1978. His proud parents, Ed and Sandee Battier, welcomed him into the world.
Shane’s parents were both very encouraging and allowed him to follow his aspirations. He also had four siblings, with whom he used to play nonstop throughout the day.
He attended the Beverly Hills campus of the Detroit Country Day School. Shane has loved basketball since he was a young child, but he started to take it seriously in the seventh grade.
He was 6 feet 3 inches tall in the seventh grade, whereas most of the other students were low or normal height. A year later, he was 6 feet 7 inches tall.
