Career
Terry went into acting after retiring in 1997. The American Gladiators-inspired Battle Dome then cast him as T-Money for a while. In films like White Chicks, he portrayed the beefcake “he-man.” Additionally, he portrayed Damon in the Ice Cube and Mike Epps film Friday After Next. Terry has also appeared in Nike advertisements. His most recent film roles were alongside Adam Sandler in The Longest Yard and Click.
He currently plays Julius on the CW sitcom Everybody Hates Chris. In addition, Crews recently made an appearance in the long-delayed Mike Judge movie Idiocracy, in which he plays President Camacho, and in another Adam Sandler production, The Benchwarmers with Rob Schneider and David Spade (as a character who was bullied by Gus Matthews despite Terry’s enormous size). He co-stars with Chris Rock in The Longest Yard, but on Everybody Hates Chris, Crews plays a young Chris Rock’s father Julius. Crews has a brief cameo appearance in the “Down” music video by Blink-182. He portrays a police officer pursuing a criminal in the video. In 2001’s Training Day, starring Denzel Washington, he also made an appearance. He also appeared as the security guard in Jamie Kennedy’s Rollin’ with Saget, but just like in The Benchwarmers, he acted cowardly after Saget “cold-clocked decked” him. And He plays the bodyguard who tells Elvis Hunkee (Tom Arnold) about his daughters in the movie Soul Plane.
He typically portrays buff-looking characters with comedic soft sides who enjoy 80s music or get sucked into soap operas. His latest appearances in Harsh Times, Inland Empire, and Street Kings, however, show that he is now able to alternate with more serious work. He can bench roughly 475 pounds as well.
