After defeating Dortmund, BAYERN MUNICH keeps the top spot in the Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, reclaiming the top spot in the Bundesliga. We view what other people perceived as a victory as “the Bavarian Domination.”
Erling Haaland, a young Norwegian player, opened the scoring for the visitors in the opening two minutes, giving the away team the lead. In the ninth minute of the game, Thorgan Hazard of Belgium assisted Haaland in double his score.
Since MSV Duisburg did so in 1977, when Ronald Worm scored two goals, the visitors are the only other team to have scored two goals against Bayern before the 10-minute mark.
The opportunity for the visitors to triple their advantage was there, but Thomas Meunier blew it. Soon after, Robert Lewandowski tied the score in the 26th minute for the home team with help from Leroy and Sane.
The Polish striker also converted a penalty to score the equaliser soon before halftime. It appeared as though a potential comeback was approaching.
When Leon Goretzka scored from the penalty area to make it 3-2, Hansi Flick’s team gained the lead for the first time in the match.
Ultimately, Lewandowski scored a hat-trick against his former employers with an assist from Alphonso Davies to secure the victory. With this victory, Bayern reclaims first place in the German Bundesliga. They are now two points ahead of RB Leipzig in second place and ten points behind third-place VFL Wolfsburg.
Following are some key lessons from the game:
Troubled Dortmund
Dortmund appeared to be the superior team for the first ten minutes of the game when Bavarian scored twice to give the visitors an unexpected lead.
They had a chance to go up 3-0, but Thomas Meunier blew a huge chance that ended up costing them. After the miss, the home team quickly pulled within 2-1.
Even though BVB had a run of strong performances, they were unable to match Bayern’s strength, and they let up another goal just before halftime.
Terzic’s team struggled from the beginning of the second half onward because they were at a loss for another strategy. Dortmund only managed to get a total of 4 shots on goal throughout the entire game.

Better Bayern
It was a wake-up call for Hansi Flick’s team to stay focused and make sure they were performing at their top in order to equalise and take control of the contest after falling behind 2-0 within of 10 minutes.
Although Goretzka, Sane, and Alphonso Davies also contributed significantly to the comeback, we shouldn’t discount Robert Lewandowski because of his flawless performance throughout the entire game. The Bavarians appear more confident than ever in successfully defending their title.
Dead-Set Mr. Halland
Even though he was on the losing team, the Norwegian sensation was ready to put on a fantastic performance right away.
By scoring twice before the 10-minute mark and posing a challenge to Lewandowski and his Bavarians, it got off to a fantastic start.
Erling’s performances continue to wow the world despite the fact that the hosts embraced the challenge and were successful, regardless of how the rest of the Dortmund team does.
Excellent Lewandowski
Robert took practically the entire first half to make a start. The former BVB star tore through the soul of his old team, and once he gets going there isn’t much that can be done to stop him.
By the time the game was over, Lewandowski had scored three goals from a total of nine shots, which was more than Dortmund had attempted.
The Munich Reds or the Leipzig Reds?
Bayern now holds the league’s top rank as a result, thus narrowing the field of contenders to just two. The only team capable of challenging the record champions is RB Leipzig, while VFL Wolfsburg is third with a 10-point deficit.
With this defeat, Borussia Dortmund is now 16 points off the lead and will find it challenging to compete for even a berth in the automatic UEFA Champions League qualification round, let alone the championship.
Although some other teams, such Bayern Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt, are in the top 4, they have actually lost too many games.
What Will Happen to Dortmund’s Young Stars Next?
With such terrible performances, young players like Haaland, Jadon Sancho, and Gio Reyna’s future raises doubts in the eyes of the world as they are unsure of their ability to secure European football for the upcoming season.
The Black and Yellow team may be able to progress under the direction of new coach Marco Rose.
As was already mentioned, there was the instance of players from whom Sancho and Gio Reyna were absent in the Munich game but continued to play for the team into the following year. Before a difficult rebuild, there may be more than one departure.
