The Exorcist

It is one of the most well-known horror movies and a masterpiece by William Friedkin. The image, despite being old, has an unsettling vibe that will stick with you long after you’ve seen it. You’ll feel uneasy during the ending, but the story will hold your interest throughout. The movie is a must-see for horror fans of all ages.

With his feature film debut, dark family drama set in a supernatural horror movie that explores the essence of grief, Ari Aster made a lasting impression. Toni Collette joined the list of countless Oscar omissions with her performance as perplexing mother Annie. But the biggest shock in the movie came from… We won’t give you any spoilers. The Conjuring

James Wan has established himself as one of the modern masters of horror with movies like Insidious, Saw, and Dead Silence, this one based on the experiences of real-life paranormal investigators.

The Warrens are well known for their involvement in the strange inquiry that served as the inspiration for The Conjuring, The Amityville Horror movies, The Conjuring 2 (which featured prominently in that movie), and The Amityville Horror. Wan and his team gave well-worn genre clichés a new layer of dread, creating a vast and continually expanding film universe.

A Quiet Place

Another great in the horror category is John Krasinski’s masterwork. In a little town, the Abbott family resides in a home with an odd noise playing in the background. The movie uses cutting-edge cinema audio techniques to create a weird and fascinating experience. The movie’s climax is a disgusting and terrifying sequence.

You are already familiar with James Wan’s works. However, they worked together on this supernatural thriller about a young child who falls into a coma and then embarks on a trip with a demon before the pair of Patrick Wilson produced The Conjuring. The main plot points of the story weren’t especially original, but Wan’s coworker Leigh Whannell gave it the gripping mythos that inspired three further chapters.

Insidious, according to Wan, was created as a counterbalance to Saw’s apparent physical violence. This gave him the idea for a more ethereal piece of writing. The result is a truly horrifying chiller widely regarded as one of the best jump scares ever captured on film.

Many of the horror movies Scott Derrickson has directed have developed cult followings. One of these, a small-scale haunted house/possession movie about a true-crime author, was the most well-known (Ethan Hawke). He relocates his family into the home where a family had been murdered. Later, he learns that the property might be rented out to a questionable tenant.
