Julian Alaphilippe is a native to Saint-Amand-Montrond, the town that hosted the 2013 Tour de France; it was regarded as one of the most beautiful tracks in the sport’s history.

On June 11, 1992, the Frenchman was born in Saint-Amand-Montrond. His father, Jo Alaphilippe, and mother, Christine Alaphilippe, had him as the eldest child/son.
Julian developed an interest in biking when he was 13 years old. He chose biking over playing the drums, which he had enjoyed since childhood; he still plays the drums.
Julian’s father worked as a musical conductor for an orchestra. Perhaps this is why he began playing drums, as conductors must have a keen sense of rhythm and timing.
“Music, like riding, gives me an outlet for my energy,” Julian explained.
He began cycling later than most French cyclists. And, unlike them, he did not advance to the professional ranks through national-level amateur teams. Julian instead joined a small-town club called US Florentaise.
His early successes in cycling came from cyclo-cross rather than road racing.
“When I was about 12, I used to ride my bike (BMX), sometimes doing stunts and often getting hurt.” “Then one of my friends suggested I go to the club in Montluçon and ride with the kids,” Julian explained.
Julian arrived at the Entente Cycliste de Montmarault Montluçon, the cycling school’s coach, and he was described as having “character” and being a “fabulous kid.”
“He was the smallest in the group, but he had something special; the temperament, the mentality to win,” another official said.

Julian Alaphilippe’s Professional Career
Beginnings of a Career
Julian found early success in cyclocross, where he spent two seasons as a Florentaise for the United States. The Frenchman finished second in the junior ‘cross worlds in 2010.
In addition, he won the junior World Cup race in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium. Given his accomplishments, he was assigned to the French army squad, L’Armée de Terre.
Julian attributes his success primarily to his cousin Franck, whom he attributes his spot on the World Tour team.
Julian also traveled to Saguenay, Quebec, to attend the 2012 Coupe des Nations.
The French star dominated the second stage of the race, finishing first on the leaderboard and second overall.

The Frenchman rose to prominence after finishing second in the 2015 La Flèche Wallonne.

Julian, on the other hand, finished second in his first attempt at the Ardennes classics. At the last two spring classics, he was led by Alejandro Valverde: Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. He completed the races in just five days.
Julian, likewise, surprised his team director after coming close to winning the race twice. At the age of 22, that was a once-in-a-lifetime accomplishment.
Following that, he competed in the 2015 Tour de Romandie, demonstrating his desire for more. In the first stage of the race, Julian’s team finished fourth.
Julian finished third in the second stage of the race, placing him tenth overall in the general classification. Similarly, he finished second in the third stage, moving him up from tenth to fifth place.
He had a great run for three stages before his teammates took over. His team did not win any medals, but a young Julian Alaphilippe’s performance was noteworthy.

Despite many challenges in 2020, Julain managed to win a stage and wear the yellow jersey for three days during the Tour de France.
Furthermore, Julian did not back down from demonstrating his dominance in the World Championship.
Julian somehow managed to attempt the final attack in the race’s final climb to steal the victory from Wout van Aert after 6 hours of back-breaking paddling.
He was crowned World Cycling Champion in 2020, a title that his country had not held since 1997.
