Zachary’s Parents (Elizabeth & Marc Cohn) Marital Relationship

The wedding of Marc Cohn and Elizabeth Vargas, Cohn’s guardians, took place on July 20, 2002, in New York City’s Upper East Side at the Council on Foreign Relations. Vargas donned a Vera Wang Strapless dress with a cantaloupe-colored canopy for their Jewish-Catholic wedding, while Marc wore a black tuxedo with a rose on his left pocket.

A large number of their friends, including Bryant Gumbel, Jackson Browne, Leonard Lauder, Matt Lauer and his wife Annette Roque Lauer, were invited at the time. Similar to this, some other famous people, including Carly Simon and her son Ben Taylor, also attended their wedding. Carly was wearing sunglasses and a white dress while she was there, and her son Ben was wearing well-fitting wedding attire.

After the wedding feast, the guests gathered in a tiny library with lit candles for a musical performance by the groom. Before meeting Elizabeth, Marc conceived and recorded the song “One Safe Place,” which he performed on stage. With the help of their visitors, the couple later built a campfire and even sang a lovely song, making it the finest day of their marriage.

How Did They First Met?

The first time Zachary’s parents met was in 1998 at the US Open in Queens, New York. Elizabeth spoke with Marc’s close friend and former professional tennis player Andre Agassi shortly after the men’s singles semifinal matches.

Agassi won the game the following day and advanced to the finals, where Cohn was waiting for him in the locker room. He then encountered Elizabeth, an ABC News correspondent, and they soon struck up a great conversation during which Marc praised Elizabeth for conducting a superb interview with Agassi.

Marc and Elizabeth were watching the men’s tennis finals from opposite sides of the court, and gradually they found themselves staring at each other rather than paying attention to the game. Marc once requested that she wear his coat since it was cold.

After the match, Cohn called Vargas and told her about his personal life, even though he frequently claimed he wasn’t dating anyone at all. Additionally, he invited her to a rooftop supper on her Upper East Side. They talked about politics, a French author named Marcel Proust, song lyrics, and religion over dinner.

Shortly after getting to know one another’s life, the couple began dating. Later, in April 2002, Marc made his marriage proposal to her from atop the Hudson River bridge. Elizabeth happily accepted his proposal, and they were later joined as husband and wife.

In 2003, the soulmates welcomed their second child, Zachery. Three years later, the couple announced that they would be having their second child together in 2006.

On August 16, 2006, they also gave birth to a beautiful baby named Samuel Wyatt Cohn, who weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces.

Cohn’s Father, Marc’s First Marriage with Jennifer George

Zachary’s father, Marc Cohn, was previously married to Jennifer George, a fashion designer and co-owner of a women’s sportswear manufacturing company in New York. Marc and Jennifer George had two children together. On May 20, 1988, the couple exchanged vows at the bride’s home in Stamford, Connecticut.
